Amilia's first photo session.

"By taking the pictures of our family that memorable Sunday afternoon you helped close one chapter of our life and open a new one. As I studied the pictures you took of us you can tell on Hauke and I's faces that we made it. You see, our daughter Mili is our absolute hero. She has endured more in her six months of life than most of us do in a lifetime. She has taught us what really truly matters in life. Relationship, love, trust and forgiveness. Thanks to modern medicine her heart will now beat on for a long time. You captured Hauke and I's relief and utter happiness that we can close the scariest chapter in our lives - accompanying baby girl through open heart surgery. Somehow the words "thank you" really don't seem enough. Until next time, blessings to you Anita". Amy.

Amilia was born on May 14th and she has been a very busy child ever since. On September 30th she had open heart surgery and on November 8th she showed up for her first family photo session with wide eyed curiosity.

Tricia, Todd and Twins

Our photo session was wonderful. Tricia and Todd laughed, joked around, posed and posed for me through the lovely arboretum, then a wooden boat center. we ended it all up at Seattle's EMP, for "the modern" take on their "magical pregnancy", as Todd once said.Tricia's words after the photo session: " Anita, thanks so much for your spirit and encouragement throughout our time taking pictures - I had a great time and really enjoyed connecting with Todd through it all".

We also created few images with the Hasselblad, medium format film camera for a classic look!
And btw, The Twins were born last Tuesday!

faces of sage.

kids change so fast. year to year brings so much new to the child's face, behavior, manners, energy they have around the camera and the confidence in their "big" world. i have photographed sage 4 times already since she was born. this time, she not only looked like shirley temple but acted the part during the photo session. she enjoyed the camera, attention and didn't mind to strike a pose at all. her mother, heather and i had a lot of laughs from sage's 2009 "transformation"...

during the hottest day in seattle!

"SEATTLE -- It's a day for the weather history books. For on July 29, 2009, Sea-Tac Airport hit 103 degrees just after 3:30 p.m. for the hottest day on record in Seattle, with records stretching back to 1891". KOMO News.

on that evening day, i had an incredible photo session with edgar, greta and their water- loving kids. we played in the waves and the children did not really pose for the camera. it was all fun, dynamic, with lots of laughter and we captured moments of true summer joy!

marianne & richard. portraits.

marianne and richard are both seattle artists. creating portraits for them was a very pleasant experience. we met at 7:30 am , caught an early summer light at the pioneer square area, moved on to post alley at the market and ended up at the EMP. it was a true team work between us. they laughed for me easily, they delivered the energy and were curious of the next step on our morning "journey to make portraits". here, just few of them to share what we captured.
